Most of us have rented a car in Beirut at least once; here are the three basic things you need to have to get your car rental:
1) Driver’s license:
Whether you have a Lebanese, foreign or international driver’s license, you need to bring it with you to a car rental office. Most car rental companies in Lebanon (including Hala Rent a Car) accept even local driver’s licenses.
2) Form of Identification:
A passport, Lebanese or foreign ID card should be enough. However, most car rental companies in Beirut require the renter to be at least 21 years old.
3) Deposit Payment:
Car rental companies in Lebanon do not actually charge you the deposit, it is rather only held as insurance in case of accident. It is recommended to pay the deposit through the credit card, that way amount would only be blocked for use for the duration of the car rental.
